Job Overview
We maintain a growing network of VPN connections terminating in our data center to support company operations. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of basic network troubleshooting procedures along with skills using and maintaining windows operating systems. Candidate should have skills in each of the following areas:
- Network trouble shooting tools such as ping, trace route
- Intimate knowledge of RLC cameras, networks and trouble shooting methodologies
- Candidate should have good communication, problem solving skills and have a hands-on, "get it done" attitude
- Candidate must be reliable
Responsibilities
- Provide technical software, hardware and network problem resolution to all computer users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions
- Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner
- Provide one-on-one end-user training as needed
- Assist Supervisors in monitoring and supporting the RLC Networks
- Handle Phone Support to all Field Technicians and Contractors needing RLC Support such but not limited to Site Wiring Questions, Parameter Adjustments, Camera Failures, Iteris Alignments, etc.
- Work along with Image Quality Team to make all needed adjustments to Loop Placements & Parameter Adjustments to meet Image Quality goals.
- Work along with Mesa Engineering on the continuing development of the RLC-300 System and all of its components, both Hardware & Software
- Work on various Research & Development Projects to find ways to improve the performance and efficiency of the RLC-300 in all areas such as but not limited to Triggering Methods, Remote Administration, etc.
- Continue to Develop & Maintain RLC-300 Configuration Generator for use by Field Service Technicians
- Schedule, Test & Implement Firmware Migrations to the complete RLC-300 Network
- Work along with Project Managers to look into suspected problems the RLC-300 may be encountering that would cause loss of production
- Develop & Maintain Documentation for all areas of RLC-300 Usage such as Installations, Maintenance & Usage
Experience Required
- 2+ years experience of Field Service in Electrical Applications
- 2+ years experience with Windows operating systems
- 2+ year computer network troubleshooting experience
Technical Competencies
- Configure DSL or cable modem
- Configure desktop PC
- Operating System Knowledge: Win NT 4.0, 2000, XP
- Cisco experience is a plus
- Understanding of basic Electronic Principles (AC Power, DC Power, Relays, V=I*R
Other Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Must be a self starter able to work independently as well as part of the ATS team
- Attention to detail
- Must be familiar with the Microsoft Suite of office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)
