Toll and Border Enforcement

ATS’ Axsis™ TRACS Toll Enforcement System offers integrated Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) Systems enforcement and imaging solutions for toll, traffic and border security applications.

The TRACS camera is currently used on the Harris County Toll Road in Houston, Texas for automated, real-time detection and alerts of top "scofflaw" detection and real-time reporting. In this implementation, the TRACS camera automatically reads vehicle license plates and compares these to an on-board database of top violators in real time. License plates are imaged, read and processed before the vehicle wheels make a full rotation. This process is applied to every vehicle passing in the camera’s view. If the TRACS camera finds a match, within seconds it e-mails a notification to County Police Officers on the roadway for immediate apprehension.

The system can be supplied with a range of different internal camera and IR illumination options offering unmatched flexibility-suitable for any ALPR application including mobile, fixed-site and long-range ALPR.

A principal feature is the use of high-resolution optical zoom cameras, which enable ALPR and high definition overview/contextual imaging. Zoom functionality means the system can be rapidly optimized to suit differing environmental conditions at ALPR capture points. The camera can be easily moved to another location.
