Services > Public Safety > Railroad Enforcement

In 1993 the principals of ATS implemented the first Railroad Crossing Camera enforcement System in the United States along the MTA Blue Line in Los Angeles. Since then, ATS established an exclusive teaming agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad company for photo enforcement systems.

Detecting and enforcing violations at railroad crossings can be accomplished by the Safe Trax™ (Railroad Crossing Safety and Enforcement) system, in which the RLC-300 camera is configured as a camera system customized for a railroad grade crossing. ATS understands the requirements of railroads, and the camera systems will interface directly with the train and gate detection systems. Safe Trax™ will detect trains and arm the camera to capture images of vehicles that illegally attempt to cross the tracks after the lights, bells or gates are activated.
