Photo enforcement technology is increasingly used in U.S. communities to supplement traditional traffic enforcement methods. This paper provides a brief overview of documented experience and lessons learned from two decades of experience with red light cameras and speed cameras.
This independent study goes into further detail about the positive effects these cameras have had on traffic violations and crashes. It also outlines the varying public opinion on installation of cameras in local communities and approaches officials may want to explore in order to sway the public to be in favor of both Red Light Safety Cameras, and Speed Cameras.
