Scottsdale, AZ – American Traffic Solutions Inc. (ATS), which serves more than 120 cities in North America with photo-enforcement programs, has signed a contract with the City of Issaquah, Washington to run that city’s red-light and speed camera enforcement program.

“Reducing speeding in school zones and the running of red lights in local intersections will make our community safer,” said Issaquah Chief of Police Paul Ayers.  “We believe the cameras will assist us in enforcing the law and decrease the number of violations, crashes and injuries in Issaquah.”

Issaquah is located off the Interstate 90 corridor just 16 miles east of Seattle. Once a logging and mining village, Issaquah currently has more than 26,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing communities in the State of Washington.

Other Washington State communities that have selected ATS include Everett, Federal Way, Lacey, Lake Forest Park, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Puyallup, Renton, Sammamish, Seattle and the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The nearby City of Seattle recently reported a 50% reduction in red-light violations at the intersections equipped with ATS cameras. The number of people injured in crashes also declined. Based on its initial success, Seattle is in the process of installing an additional 24 red-light cameras at 19 intersections and is adding a speed-camera program to monitor school zones where speeding has become a problem.
