San Diego chooses ATS to administer photo enforcement program

Scottsdale, AZ – The San Diego City Council unanimously approved American Traffic Solutions, Inc. as the new vendor for the City’s Red Light Photo Enforcement program (RLPE). The contract is for an initial term of three years with potential options for two one-year extensions.

Per the contract, ATS will support the City’s RLPE efforts to expand the number of intersections featuring red light cameras to 15, and by upgrading the red light camera technology to an advanced all digital color camera system (some of the current vendor’s cameras used film instead of digital).

San Diego is the sixth California city where ATS has been chosen to provide enforcement programs with the company’s next generation suite of photo traffic safety and enforcement products. ATS has successfully expanded and improved several photo enforcement programs in other parts of the country after replacing other vendors, including Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale, Arizona, Washington, DC and Anne Arundel County and Laurel, Maryland.
